  • Since 2008, the technology company TEIMAS has stood out for its specialization in the development of cloud-based software for waste managers and producers.
  • Since 2019, its digital platform Zero has been supporting environmental sustainability in large corporations.
  • The new version of Zero (Zero Spring Release 2023) enables comprehensive waste management by certifying waste traceability with blockchain technology and measuring the carbon footprint. It also includes functionality for price management.

‍Santiago de Compostela, 19 April 2023 - TEIMAS Global, a technology company specialised in software solutions for waste managers and producers, has just launched a new version of Zero, a digital platform for waste management in large corporations.

In recent years the circular economy model has become a priority in EU policies, embodied in an extensive environmental regulatory framework that affects the traceability of industrial waste and is reflected in the search for more sustainable production models. In this context, new technologies such as Zero, TEIMAS' online platform that facilitates the intelligent management of waste in large corporations, are gaining importance. The development of this tool launched in 2019 has been a logical step in the trajectory of TEIMAS, after 10 years of experience in the creation of software for waste document management.

Through dashboards, it allows visualizing business indexes, with the possibility of promoting a productive model based on the circular economy, incorporating the principles of the Zero Waste movement in operations and contributing to the fulfillment of the Sustainable Development Goals in the management of waste generated by companies during the development of their activity.

Since 2019 Zero has been implemented in several multinationals in Spain on a Software as a Service (SaaS) basis, a technology that does not require maintenance, hosting or security management. Among its main clients are various actors in the production, transport and waste management cycle: from the Public Administration, through small and medium-sized waste management companies, to its current collaboration with large corporations with an international presence. Among others, leading companies in the energy (RED ELÉCTRICA DE ESPAÑA), infrastructure, telecommunications (TELEFÓNICA), food and beverage (DAMM) and pharmaceutical sectors, as well as oil & gas, chemical and textile.

Measuring the carbon footprint generated during waste treatment and transportation

Zero has now a new functionality for measuring the carbon footprint generated during waste treatment and transportation. The result of this calculation is obtained through a wide range of data: type of waste, type of treatment, amount of waste in kg - in the first case (treatment) - and distance traveled, amount of waste (kg) and type of vehicle used - in the second case (transport). The user can analyze the evolution of the carbon footprint through reports and dashboards that can be applied to the development of environmental sustainability strategies.

Improved monitoring of costs associated with waste management

Finally, Zero now incorporates a functionality that facilitates the economic management of credits and charges related to waste management, the analysis of the economic impact of waste shipments and decision making to reduce this impact.

With this new version of the Zero software, TEIMAS advances the standardization of waste management in global companies, helping them to control their waste production, ensure traceability, drive sustainability strategies and save costs.
