The right tool

Nowadays, especially if the aim is to minimize waste production, reduce the environmental footprint and focus on continuous improvement, it is essential to have tools to detect possible patterns and their causes.

This is some text inside of a div block.

As we mentioned in our previous publication, one of the main problems faced by waste-producing companies is the heterogeneity of the information: each center has its own casuistry, each supplier has its own way of reporting, each Autonomous Community has its own requirements, etc. This poses a great challenge when it comes to collecting, unifying and analyzing data to obtain an overall view of the company's performance.

Nowadays, especially if the aim is to minimize waste production, reduce the environmental footprint and focus on continuous improvement, it is essential to have tools to detect possible patterns and their causes. For this purpose, some companies use reporting programs or Excel spreadsheets, in which they enter data by hand for later use. Is this useful? Yes, without a doubt. However, it involves a considerable investment of time on the part of the whole team and does not avoid the possibility of making mistakes in the transcription. Is there an alternative to "chopping up" all the information by hand? Fortunately, yes. 13 years of experience in providing software solutions for waste management have allowed us to understand the different challenges faced by waste management companies and producers. Among the existing alternatives to manually entering information, the following stand out:

  • Integrations between generic HSE and ERP software so that information entered in one does not have to be manually transferred to another. These systems help to save time, but with the drawback that they often cannot be adapted to a specific casuistry or to the waste regulations of each country, so they do not cover all the needs of a waste producer.
  • Specific software for waste operations, such as Zero, which not only integrates with other tools but is developed to automatically capture information from all sources. In addition, it allows to generate and process documentation as required by legislation, as well as to exploit the information through reports and to know the impact of waste management on the carbon footprint.

Zero is the result of TEIMAS' experience in software development and its great knowledge of the waste sector. If you work in a production company, request a free demonstration of what Zero can do for you.
