TEIMAS is awarded the Solar Impulse label for its digital platform for intelligent waste management
This digital platform is called ZERØ and has been developed by TEIMAS, one of the few technology companies, inside and outside Spain, specialized in waste management software.
The label, awarded by the Solar Impulse Foundation, recognizes ZERØ as an economically profitable technological solution that contributes to environmental protection.
ZERØ is thus one of the 1000 clean and profitable solutions that will be presented by Bertrand Piccard, president of Solar Impulse, to political and business decision-makers.
The digital platform ZERØ, developed by the Galician technology company TEIMAS, has just received the Solar Impulse Efficient Solution label. The Solar Impulse Foundation awards this recognition only to products, services, technologies and processes that meet verified standards of economic profitability and environmental sustainability, evaluated by independent experts.
ZERØ thus becomes part of the "1000 Solutions" that Bertrand Piccard, President of the Solar Impulse Foundation, will present to various decision-makers in companies and governments. The aim of this initiative is to accelerate the transition to a carbon-free economy, in line with the UN Sustainable Development Goals, while at the same time enabling sustainable economic growth.
Solar Impulse has 3,285 members and several partners including the European Commission and the UNFCCC (United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change). Its Solar Impulse Efficient solution label has so far been awarded to a total of 849 members worldwide, 28 of which are in Spain, 2 of them in Galicia. About TEIMAS and ZERØ
TEIMAS is one of the few technology companies, inside and outside Spain, specialized in waste management software. Its clients include the Spanish public administration, more than 400 companies focused on professional waste management and several multinationals from different sectors (textile, telecommunications, food and energy).
In 2019 TEIMAS launched ZERØ, a cloud platform that enables regulatory compliance of waste management in large corporations and facilitates environmental sustainability strategies through data mining. In addition, it ensures full traceability of generated waste thanks to blockchain technology. With this digital solution, TEIMAS helps companies to meet the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Specifically, the SDG number 9 ("Industry, innovation and infrastructure") and 12 ("Responsible production and consumption"), as now recognized by the Solar Impulse label.
According to Miguel Varela, TEIMAS co-founder and CEO, "companies are looking for solutions that ensure proper waste management and boost their circular economy strategies. With ZERØ we respond efficiently to this demand, acting as a technology partner that accompanies enterprises, through digital transformation, in the development of sustainable production models".
